In this Episode, I give an Introduction to neurons. Since Neurons form the basis for the entire Nervous System, understanding what they are and what they do is essential.
First I answer the question “What is a neuron?”. Then I go into the parts of a neuron:
- Dendrites
- Soma
- Axon
- Axon Terminals
Lastly, I talk about the three types of neurons:
- Sensory Neurons
- Motor Neurons
- Interneurons
Watch, Enjoy, and then leave your comments. There are many more videos to come. My goal is to provide at least 1 new Video on a weekly basis, so keep checking back.
Thank you so much. You make it much easier to understand

Hi Ani,
Thanks for your comment. I don't have a video on that at the moment, but I do have a post on it. You can check it out here:

Thanks 🙂
Great Job on these videos, I’ve got a biology exam tomorrow and I feel a bit more confident in the nervous system. 🙂
Thank You so much!!!! – Our psychology instructor was out today, we were assigned to review the chapter and write an essay explaining the parts and functions of the neuron,…….. you’ve helped me out so much today, Thanks! (I hope there’s more 🙂
@Neytiriz That’s awesome to hear. Hope you had fun doing the project. Those can be some great learning experiences 🙂

thanks im taking physio and u made it clear=)
Good video. And I like the music!
great video! But im a bit confused as to the varieties of neurons. To my understanding so far, a certain type of neuron (a dopamine neuron for example) will only produce its specific neurotransmitter and no others. So what i
Great video! Can one particular neuron recieve signals from different neurotransmitters? So far to my understanding, a particular neuron (a dopamine neuron for example) only produces its specific neurotransmitter, dopamine. So my question is, can one neuron recieve messages from different neurotransmitters? Could a dopamine neuron receive a signal from GABA to inhibit its function, or maybe recieve a signal from ACH? And do specific neurons produce GABA for this function?
thanks 😀 this gave a good headstart on the nervous system and neurons and all that for me 🙂 im having a bio olympiad next year and starting to prepare already 🙂 thanks alot!!
You are the best teacher I never had!! Thanks so much I love your videos!
1:11 ~ iso funny! thanx 4 the halp! ^3^
thank you
but I thought if you touch a hot stove that should trigger a reflex, in which the brain is NOT involved..
This really helped! I finally understand something thats on my bio test tomorrow!! THANK YOU 🙂
